Published quarterly, the Royal BC Museum's members-only museum magazine showcases current museum news and activities. Meticulously crafted with graphic design and art direction, each issue provides exclusive insider information on ongoing exhibitions and events, offered as a value-add incentive for new members through annual subscriptions.
As the sole designer for the museum magazine, I applied diverse graphic design and art direction skills to ensure each issue's completion. I crafted original layouts for every page, maintaining consistency across issues. Prioritizing accessibility and readability, I used on-brand typography throughout. Curating photo libraries, I selected visuals that enhanced article messages and created engaging layouts. Coordinating with contributors, I ensured timely content delivery while upholding brand standards and enhancing overall magazine quality.
Collaborating on the museum magazine with project coordinators, writers, photographers, and copy editors, I refined content and determined final pagination. Managing photo updates, copy edits, and layout adjustments were routine challenges in achieving approval. Meticulously applying graphic design and art direction during pre-press checks ensured color precision and resolved any resolution or alignment issues.
